To begin roof repair, go up to your roof and assess the situation. If you find any peeled areas or fractures, take the following steps: Using the broom, sweep the dust and dirt off the roof. Roofing cement will not adhere to dirty surfaces, so make sure the whole area is clean before proceeding. Cut a form out of the region where the fracture or peel was found. Use the same shapes whether there are several fractures or peels for continuity. Create a pattern on the replacement shingles with the cut form. The size and shape of the replacement shingle you make should be exact. Build several replacement shingles if you made a mistake with the size so that the shingles are on the same level as the area on it. Create a new shingle to replace the old one. This one needs to be at least 2 inches bigger than the others.
