Pediatric Urgent Care facilities provide high quality, preventative pediatric care for kids during the evenings or on the weekends. The Pediatric Urgent Care (PUC) concept was initiated to help families in need of urgent medical care for their children. PUC’s are staffed and located at Children’s hospitals or specialty clinics in local areas, depending on the location of the children’s hospital or clinic. These centers are staffed by neonatologists, neonatal nurses, otolaryngologists, pediatricians, medical assistants, physical therapists and social workers. Unlike most hospitals, PUC’s do not restrict the hours that PNs can work; instead, PNs have the option to choose the time they wish to work.Do you want to learn more? When it comes to urgent care for children, there are many options. In the evening, there is the Children’s Hospital Urgent Care Clinic, which is open twenty-four hours a day and offers PN services including urgent evaluations, medication needs, walk-in visits, and other pediatric health services for eligible children. Most of the PN’s at the Children’s Hospital Urgent Care Clinic are on night duty; however, some of them also alternate weekend and day shift work. If you are an overnight traveler, you can go to the Urgent Care Clinic at the Queens Health System’s Jamaica Plain campus and wait for your appointment after receiving a referral from your doctor.
